About the Director.gif

Shane Thompson2.jpgShane Thompson is the Executive Director of the Jacksonville Men’s Center. Shane received education in Marketing and Business Management from the University of South Dakota and Morningside College. He is an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God and continues to sharpen his skills and education in Business Coaching and Christian leadership.

In response to the call of God, Shane moved with his wife Rhonda of 13 years and their three children (Patrick, Emma and Ellie) from Colorado to join the Teen Challenge Southeast Region team in 2007. He loves being a daddy and a husband.   Some of Shane’s hobbies are mountain climbing, hiking, hunting and weight lifting. Shane is committed to leading those who are bound by addiction into freedom through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Rhonda Thompson, Shane’s wife of 13 years and the Associate Director, was raised on a farm is Southwestern Colorado. She has a degree in Christian Elementary Education and is home educator for all three of their children. Rhonda believes that her most important role is to be Shane’s help meet and partner in ministry, raising godly children that will serve the Lord. In addition to working alongside Shane, she oversees the financial department for this location. She began singing solos for church and community events when she was three and has traveled with several singing groups, including “The Continentals” and now directs our student choir. Rhonda has a desire to teach the men in our program how to truly love and respect women.

Shane and Rhonda are excited about the opportunities ahead for expansion and look forward to reaching many people who are hurting in the Jacksonville community. As a family, they are dedicated to the ministry of Teen Challenge and to the students they serve.
