We are pleased that you are considering Teen Challenge to begin your recovery from addiction.
Teen Challenge is one of the most successful faith-based recovery support programs in the world; we contribute our success to our foundation in faith. We believe that true change comes from what God can do on the inside of us. If you are interested in faith-based recovery, Teen Challenge is the place for you. All of our classes, counsel, and environment are rooted in a belief in God and values found in the Bible. We are serious about faith-based recovery because it has provided the most successful care available for overcoming addiction and beginning a new life.
Teen Challenge is a “Culture of Responsibility.” Our basic premise is that one must assume responsibility for his own life. You must own the responsibility for your thoughts, choices, and life patterns. Difficult experiences can contribute to life controlling addiction but cannot be a reason for remaining in addiction. At Teen Challenge you will take a responsible look at your life so healing can occur and important lessons can be learned. Your negative experiences do not need to dictate your future.
Teen Challenge International of Jacksonville Florida is a minimum twelve-month residential discipleship program assisting adult males in recovering from life-controlling addictions. The Teen Challenge of Jacksonville residential discipleship program represents 5 phases:
Discipleship Structure:
Phase 1 (Crisis Intervention)
People with life-controlling problems are given a place to live to meet the immediate crisis. We meet their physical needs and love them with the love of Christ. They are evaluated to determine if they need or desire our long-term discipleship training.
Phase 2 (Recovery)
The process begins will admission of the student, background and blood work is compiled and for the first month the student begins to adjust themselves to the rules and guidelines. They also begin course work which will lead them into the beginning stages of induction.
Phase 3 (Renewal)
The beginning of the discipleship process involves 4 months of foundational Bible study and character development.
Phase 4 (Restoration)
Needed life skills such as proper work habits, parenting, and marriage relationships are added during this 4-month phase.
Phase 5 (Re-entry)
This 3-month phase involves housing, assistance in finding suitable employment, and vibrant church fellowship in a local congregation of their choice.
Completion
Successful completion of the residential program is recognized during a Completion Service in which family and friends join to celebrate their accomplishments!
Graduation
This is an event that is held annually in June. A graduate will have completed the residential program at least 12 months prior, will have maintained a good relationship with a local church, and maintained a monthly contact with Teen Challenge staff personnel. They will have a good report from their Pastor and/or accountability partner and above all demonstrate ongoing spiritual growth.
